My Impact
01
Launched a full end-to-end web experience within 1 month, collaborating with cross-functional partners across all stages from research, design to implementation, resulting in a 5x increase in partner and user engagement
02
Defined product vision and framework, ran user research, and created concepts and prototypes for usability testing, enhancing user flows in the mobile app's 3rd beta and increasing user retention by 25%
03
Improved team efficiency by restructuring the design system and delivering design components applicable to multiple products
04
Proposed new features based on user feedback, resulting in personalized prompts and insights, a more intuitive onboarding process, optimized access to insights
Design Process
At our startup, we follow a Scrum Agile workflow integrated with the 4Ds Design Process to ensure rapid iteration and validation of designs and concepts, moving from divergent to convergent thinking.
As a UX designer, I am involved in almost every stage, from research to product strategy definition, ideation evaluation, and design build.
Below is an overview of our design process, highlighting the importance of understanding each task's goal and purpose. We emphasize the need to ask "why" and bring a problem-solving mindset with clear goals and well-defined clear constraints. The activities marked in red are those in which I have been fully engaged.

Optimizing our UX Workflow
In our continuously evolving team, cross-functional collaboration sometimes presents challenges. By documenting issues and conducting retrospectives after each sprint, we continually optimized our UX workflow.
Below is the refined workflow that I developed with my manager and coworkers. I proposed a clearer design sign-off and hand-off process which enhanced cross-department collaboration, especially between design, engineering, and product team.

Project 1
Launched Enterprise Web App
Goal
Increase the usability of the web experience to serve the growing needs across teams
Challenge
To optimize user experiences within the constraints of limited capabilities and resources, while also meeting the tight launch deadline
Achievements
-
Proposed and implemented a new design proposal, and launched within a month
-
Expanded the reach to 8 partners and their users
-
Updated the UI library to match our new light theme design style
Key Contributions
-
Audited the previous design through heuristic review and user feedback
-
Created end-to-end user flows, wireframes, and hi-fi prototypes
-
Drove designs with content writers, PMs, and developers for design hand-offs and built design components within our design systems
-
Conducted user testing and incorporated feedback

Project 2
Enhanced Mobile App Key Features & Flows:
Onboarding, Recording, Exploration, Community…
I led and optimized the design of key features and flows, including Onboarding, Recording, and Explore. I also created user flows and both low and high-fidelity prototypes and shipped the designs.
Here are some sketches and design thoughts on redesigning the flow and UI of the app.

Project 3
Enhanced Design Systems
Goal
Ensure our design systems are scalable and efficient to support future growth and increased demands
Challenge
The previous design systems were organized by product category, making navigation difficult and causing inconsistencies in cross-channel design components. Additionally, there was a lack of structured documentation and standards for creating new components.
Achievements
-
Restructured and optimized the design systems, resulting in a more navigable, scalable, and efficient framework
-
Improved cross-functional collaboration by aligning design systems with current development tools and processes
-
Enhanced design consistency and usability across all products
Key Contributions
-
Gathered feedback, conducted research to inform improvements; ensure team needs were met
-
Conducted a thorough gap analysis to identify inconsistencies and improvement areas
-
Updated visual styles, created a new theme, and revised design tokens (color, spacing, corner radius, icons, typeface) to ensure a cohesive and modern look
-
Restructured current components for scalability and designed new components based on Acceptance Criteria
-
Rearranged the UI Library layout, aligned it with the current Storybook structure, added sections like Release Notes, and archived outdated components
-
Collaborated with another designer to implement changes; Facilitated design reviews to ensure cross-functional alignment and design consistency
